Support for Puerto Rico and Mexico Saint David’s eighth graders led the school in fundraisers, including a wristband sale and basketball shoot-out, to support Puerto Rico and Mexico in the wake of the natural disasters that struck in the fall. The wristband sale resulted in $2,000 raised to help Puerto Rico after the devastation of Hurricane Maria. The boys also raised $1,000 for the Mexican earthquake initiative, through a pay-to-play basketball shoot-out spearheaded by a parent. The charity Fundacion Kaluz added $2 for each $1 raised by our boys, resulting in a $3,000 donation. 60  •  Saint David’s Magazine
