n Halloween, Saint David’s School, through the tremendous creativity and efforts of
parents, faculty and staff, was transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and
Wizardry. As Headmaster O’Halloran noted: “From the mysterious delivery of The
Daily Prophet to all the classrooms in the wee hours of the morning, to the raising of a cup for
a Butterbeer toast in the Great Hall to bid farewell to the old school; from Diagon Alley to
Harry’s Room Under the Stairs; from the owls flapping about, the quotes on the stairs, rats,
mice, spiders, and a band of Seventh Grade Ravens; from Hogwarts Express, Hogwarts
Trivia, Hogwarts food, to the Goblets of Fire, the incredible costumes, candles floating
in the halls, Moaning Myrtles in the bathrooms, the chocolate frogs; from the riddles and
puzzles, the letters falling from the ceilings, vignettes, the 9 3/4 Platform, the sign posts
throughout the entire school to the looks on the faces of our boys, Saint David’s has never
looked so good, so fantastic, or so transformed by pure magic.”
The school’s gratitude to all who helped make the day so magical for wizards of all
ages, and muggles too!
