Parent and Child Aquatics Level 2
Ages : 1.5 years – 3 years Parent and Child Aquatics Level 2 builds on the skills introduced in Level 1 . Participants improve on these skills and learn more advanced skills in Level 2 . As with Level 1 , water safety topics are also included in this level . Parent & Child Level 1 is not a prerequisite for this course .

Preschool Aquatics Level 1
For first time young swimmers who are not yet comfortable in the water Ages : 3 – 5
Preschool Level 1 orients children to the aquatic environment and helps them gain basic aquatics skills . These skills include entering and exiting the water , blowing bubbles through mouth and nose , submerging , opening eyes underwater and retrieving submerged objects , front and back gliding , back floating , rolling from front to back and back to front , alternating and simultaneous arm and leg actions on front and back , combining arm and leg actions on front and back and age-appropriate water safety skills .

Important Note About Pickup for Weinstein JCC Preschoolers
* Tuesday 1-1:30 PM Classes : Half-day JCC Preschool students will be picked up by Aquatics staff . Parents must pick up their children from the pool . Please note that full-day preschool students cannot attend this timeslot .
** Monday and Thursday 5-5:30 PM Classes : Full-day JCC Preschool students will be picked up by Aquatics staff . Parents must pick up their children from the pool .

A class focused on skill development for young swimmers who are comfortable in the water Ages : 3 – 5
Preschool Level 2 helps children gain greater independence in their skills and develop more comfort in and around water . Skills to be taught include entering and exiting the water , bobbing , opening eyes underwater and retrieving submerged objects , front floating , back gliding and floating , rolling from front to back and back to front , treading water using arms and legs , combining arm and leg actions on front and back , finning arm action on back and age-appropriate water safety skills .

For the more advanced young swimmers who are extremely comfortable in the water and swimming independently with breaths . Ages : 3 – 5
Preschool Level 3 helps children start to gain basic swimming propulsive skills to be comfortable in and around water . Skills to be taught include entering the water , fully submerging , and holding breath in the water , bobbing , rotary breathing , front , jellyfish and tuck floating , front and back floating or gliding with recoveries , changing direction of travel while swimming on front and back , finning arm action on back and ageappropriate water safety topics .

The Learn to Swim Level 1 class is for the first-time swimmer that doesn ’ t know how to swim . Fundamental of Aquatics Skills Level 2 class is for the child who can swim independently but has not mastered his / her stroke techniques . Skills to be taught include entering and exiting the water , submerging , bobbing , opening eyes underwater and retrieving submerged objects , front , jellyfish , and tuck floating , front kicking and gliding , back kicking , and gliding , rolling from front to back and back to front , rotary breathing , treading water , combining arm and leg actions on front and back and age-appropriate water safety skills .
