The team paused the presentation for attendees to break into teams . The breakout session lasted for an estimated 45 minutes .
When the meeting resumed , Josh provided some information on demonstration and supplemental grants through the SS4A framework . Applications opened in February of this year . Demonstration activities may include feasibility studies with low-cost quick build strategies examples may include planters or temporary speed humps . Engineering studies and pilot programs such as educational campaigns are also potential activities . For supplemental planning activities , examples may include complimentary safety plans , road safety audits , and other roadway safety planning activities that enhance the development of action plans . Meeting participants were directed to a board to give input on potential demonstration grants they ’ d like to see happen in Arlington . Results are available below in the Feedback and Input section .
Josh announced the launch of the Safe Streets Arlington web page . The web address is bit . ly / SafeStreetsArlington . In addition , a survey is under development .
Josh explained this is just one of the various engagement opportunities with this project . In addition to internal and external stakeholder committees , three public meetings will be conducted throughout the year .
