SAEVA CONGRESS 2018 GOUDINI SPA WESTERN CAPE I have the pleasure in welcoming you all to this our 50 th Annual Congress of the SAEVA and celebrating our 51 st anniversary. After a most memorable Congress last year it all seemed a little quiet leading up to this event but as the date crept closer it all started building up to the climax we have become so used to in previous years. To our international and local invited speakers, we appreciate your time you have given up and the travels you have endured to be with us this year and share your knowledge with us and experience the friendship of the equine vets in South Africa as well as the amazing hospitality this country’s people are renown for. Our local speakers are an integral part of this Congress and contribute massively to the content. Thank you for your effort and engagement. To our chairman of the SAVC and the newly appointed MD of the SAVA, thank you for joining us for parts of this Congress. We appreciate your attendance and welcome you spending time with our members and the valued interaction that follows. To all delegates, members and especially my whole committee, thank you for the support and the engagement in the organisation’s activities throughout the year. I have endeavoured to get younger members involved in the organisation as well as members from a broad spectrum of the equine profession. This effort as well as the motto of ‘Get Involved’ will inspire continued support and admiration of our organisation. Thank you to Industry. I do not have enough words to describe my appreciation of your ‘Involvement’. You are a vital cog to this Congress as well as the industry as a whole, your support is appreciated. I have thoroughly enjoyed my two years as President of SAEVA and would like to take the opportunity to wish Terry Casey and his committees all the best in the future and great enjoyment. My motto ‘GET INVOLVED’ King Regards Manfred Rohwer
