Curb caused by soft tissue swelling over the plantar hock
Superficial digital flexor tendonitis is also a cause of curb while plantar desmitis is
really rare.
Superficial digital flexor tendon insertion injuries at the point of the hock
Damage to the lateral or medial (most common) attachment of the superficial digital
flexor tendon to the tuber calcis is imaged as enlarged tendon of insertion with
hypoechoic to anechoic areas with fiber pattern disruption. This usually occurs in
association with a calcaneal bursitis. Luxation of the superficial digital flexor tendon
from the point of the hock can also be diagnosed sonographically along with
concurrent disruption of the cartilaginous cap, if present.
Disruption of the lateral attachment of the superfi
