Introduction
The causes of the murmur can be determined with a complete echocardiographic
examination, including Doppler echocardiography, identifying any structural
abnormalities and disturbance of blood flow. Determining the significance of the
findings in terms of the horse’s current and future performance, rider or driver and
horse safety and horse well-being and life expectancy is challenging but can be done
with the information obtained from a complete cardiac examination, including an
