of physiological stress variables from a representative sample may serve to
objectively define the association between physiological stressors and herpesviruses,
In addition, defining the prevalence of other important respiratory pathogens
including EHV-2 and EHV-5 recently reported from other countries may additionally
explain the incidents of pyrexia and other clinical signs that are not found to be
associated with EHV-1 and -4 in the local two surveys to date.
