Summer Youth Basketball League
DD Division: League emphasizes skill development,
participation and fun! Hoops are lowered to 8 feet and
junior basketballs are used. The first 30 minutes consist
of practicing fundamentals followed by 30 minutes of
game play.
D Division: League emphasizes skill development, participation and fun! Hoops are lowered to 8 feet and junior
basketballs are used. The first 45 minutes consist of practicing fundamentals followed by 45 minutes of game play.
C2 Division: Utilizes referees but no score is kept. Hoops
are set at nine feet. This division stresses participation
and fun. Saturday C2 game ranges 12:00-4:00 pm.
Teams may practice up to three hours a week. Practice
times are arranged by coaches. This league provides
an excellent transition from SVUSD Beginning Basketball leagues to SVUSD Boys and Girls Youth Basketball
Leagues.
Games begin the week following orientation. Uniforms
and schedules are distributed on Orientation Day. Saturday and Sunday games (D&DD) are played between
8:00 am-12:00 pm. Friday night (D&DD) games are played
between 5:00-8:30 pm. Times are determined by gym
availability and number of teams in each division. Same
team/coaches requests must be made no later than the
Wednesday prior to the scheduled orientation. (Orientation times do not reflect game times)

Mail, fax, on-line and walk-in registration is taken through
the registration deadlines listed for each program. No phone
registration is accepted. Most classes fill quickly, sometimes
before the registration deadline. Please register early!
Registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Shooting Stars Basketball
This program is designed for special needs athletes or
anyone, who for whatever reason, cannot participate in
the SVUSD Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball league. Players
will be grouped by ability to create competitive teams
and provide any needed support. League stresses fun
and participation. Registration includes Orientation Day,
jersey for all new players, and a trophy. All games will
be played on Sundays. Times to be announced after
registration is complete. Every week players will practice,
and then will play a 45 minute game.
Volunteer Coaches and Teen Volunteers are welcome.

Boys “A-C” Divisions: League stresses fun and participation, including minimum play requirements.
Sportsmanship awards are given. Teams may practice up to three hours per week. Games are always
scheduled on Saturdays. Practice time and location
determined by coach. Games begin June 27. Evaluation
times do not reflect game times. All returning players;
please wear last season’s jersey to the evaluation.
No games on July 4.
