Sarah came to us after lengthy careers with the Episcopal Church and the Girl Scouts of America. She led the work to develop Your Sacred Place Is a Community Asset: A Tool Kit to Attract New Resources and Partners, and then expanded the information provided and helped create the New Dollars/ New Partners for Your Sacred Place training program. Photo credit: Michael O’Brien UPDATE on Partners: Sarah became our first national Director of Training, and marketed the New Dollars/New Partners program across the country. Since 2007 she has been based in North Carolina, traveling to educate congregations on fundraising and asset building. To date, Sarah has trained more than 200 congregations! We are fortunate that she will continue to serve as an adjunct trainer for New Dollars/New Partners in the months to come. New Staff Daniel Duffy, who has been an intern and consultant at Partners since September 2010, started working full-time with us as a Project Manager this spring. Given his familiarity with Partners’ new groundbreaking projects, as well as research and community development know-how, we’re excited to have him on board. Daniel will be focused on the Arts in Sacred Places project, helping congregations to articulate their boundaries and negotiate mutually beneficial shared space agreements with arts groups in Philadelphia. His background in building leadership and strong community participation will help expand the New Dollars/New Partners training program. He will also continue work on the Halo Project, for which he researched economic studies on green space and preservation. 3 • Sacred Places • www.sacredplaces.org • Spring 2011
