Water transfer
“We openly invite customers to come and
see us about all their needs for pumps and
water-related transfer equipment. We aim
to deliver an excellent service and build long
standing relationships with our customers. We
make the supply of pumps and machinery
easy for our customers, along with our expert
services – all just a “phone call away”. After all,
the last thing you need is to wait forever or be
inconvenienced when you urgently need a pump
or other water transfer related equipment. We
at Elsumo understand this, and that’s why we
make speedy and excellent service a priority.”
Bjorn Geiger (MD)
Elsumo supplies customers all over South
Africa and also to some countries in Sub
Saharan Africa. Elsumo makes it their business
to be a preferred supplier to the four main
markets it supplies to, namely agricultural,
municipal, mining and domestic. Their
impressive 103-year-old, third generation,
family business started in Namibia in 1913, and
today the Elsumo brand name has become a
well-known and reliable brand within the water
engineering industry.
In the 90s the business expanded to South
Africa and today they are a young and vibrant
team of go-getters, consisting of 60+ employees,
including technical, design, marketing, service
and administrative specialists.
The group is passionate about water
conservation and encouraging sustainable
methods. They are also always keen to assist
clients with their solar pump installations and
requirements. “We always tell our clients that
our service goes far beyond just a sale, as
we are also committed to providing back-up
service and maintenance plans to support our
customers going forward.” says Rhyn Smit,
Cpt Technical Service & Sales.
Furthermore, Bjorn says: “I think it is
becoming highly pertinent for business people
to ask themselves – ‘how do I conduct myself
with regards to the environment? It doesn’t
help for business leaders to pay lip service
to measures such as carbon footprints, if
they don’t follow basic environmental-saving
philosophies at home and at the office. In terms
of our customers, sustainability also includes
ensuring that pumps and pipes, for instance,
are optimised in design for economics,
performance and overall sustainability.”
