Landscape Johannesburg International Flower Show T BLOOMING MARVELLOUS EXPERIENCE FOR JOHANNESBURG he seeds have been planted for something extraordinary. Something beautiful, exciting, and the first event of this magnitude within Africa, is coming to our city of gold this year. The Johannesburg International Flower Show is to be hosted at Waterfall City from the 30th October to the 3rd of November 2019. “Celebrating design and innova- tion with the country’s leading landscapers, designers and gardeners, the Johannesburg International Flower Show will house some of the best garden and floral displays – making it the showstopper event that will compare to the internationally acclaimed RHS Chelsea Flower Show,” says Mike Sham, event director. It is anticipated that the Johannesburg International Flower Show will attract between 80 000 and 100 000 visitors over the 5 days of the event. “We are thrilled to be hosting this extraor- dinary floral experience in South Africa and can guarantee that this will become a much-anticipated event on the annual calendar”. At the heart of show is the Grand Pavilion, where guests can marvel at vibrant flower displays and innovative garden designs, attend workshops and gaze at the truly unique floral creations. South Africa’s leading landscape designers, as well as some incredible up-and-coming talent, will create some extraordi- nary gardens including Showcase Gardens, Artisan Gardens as well Chelsea Flower Show, and his talent was recognized with a silver medal at the Gardening World Cup in Nagasaki, Japan. The Jill Manson Floral Design School is the leading school of floral design in SA and teaches all levels of floristry to enthusiasts and career driven entrepreneurs wishing to make a living from the trade. Jill has created floral designs and floral décor for hundreds of prestigious events over the last 18 years. Her stage presence is magnetic and she rivals a passion for the cut flower industry and her country like no other. Leon Kluge, who has become synonymous with modern contemporary landscaping and garden design, will be heading up the gardens of the show. With experience in Israel and the Comores Islands, Leon started the award-winning Fever Tree Nursery in Nelspruit upon his return to South Africa.
