Hasubhai belongs to the traditional family of Tangaliya artisans of Surendranagar, which once had many weaving families. He started working in the fields for 6000 Rs./month because he could not support his family with weaving. Once Rweaves approached him, Hasubhai became a torch bearer along with few others in the village, who have been trying hard to revive the art within village. He now makes a comfortable 12000 Rs/month.
