Food Assistance Water - The City of San Antonio , Bexar County and San Antonio Food Bank are operating bottled water distribution sites through March 6 , 2021 . Residents will be able to pick up one case of bottled water per day per household .

Disaster Relief Aid
Federal disaster aid has been approved for Texas . That means the federal government will provide assistance in 77 counties , including Bexar County .
You can apply to get help for things like grants for temporary housing and home repairs , low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover . You can find more information and apply at

Home & Business Repairs
Property owners or licensed plumbers do not require a permit for minor emergency repairs on freeze-damaged or leaking water pipes provided new piping doesn ’ t exceed five feet in length .
A plumbing permit is required if multiple water pipes are broken , generally affecting entire home plumbing system and plumbing fixtures . Additionally , permits are required for any repairs to gas lines or gas systems .
Where permits are required , the emergency repairs can be completed before the permit is obtained . The permit shall be submitted to the
Development Services Department on the next business day once all emergency repairs are completed by a licensed plumbing contractor .
Beware of fraudulent , unqualified contractors or “ storm chasers ,” that come from all over the country looking for vulnerable consumers . To check if a contractor is registered with the city , visit the
Development Services Department website , and the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners .

Give Help - Volunteer
Bottled Water Distribution Volunteers are needed to help staff the distribution sites . Register to volunteer .
• Volunteer shifts are available Monday , February 22nd through Friday , February 26th from 8 a . m . to 6 p . m .
• Volunteers will assist with loading cases of water into vehicles and provide instructions at the distribution sites .
• The entire shift will be outdoors , and volunteers must be able to lift 20 pounds .
• Shift leaders are also needed to serve as an on-site contact for volunteers .
