FROM THE SAAA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR KYLE WARD , CAE
Dear Members ,
I am thrilled and honored to be your new Executive Director and appreciate all the warm wishes I ’ ve received . My wife Pamela and I are excited to call San Antonio home . After my very first interview with the SAAA search committee , I was convinced this association is where I wanted to be . My first few weeks on the job have only affirmed my initial excitement .
I believe associations are what I call “ the people ’ s business ”. Our greatest strengths come from people with passion about a mission . I have worked in the association space for many years , most recently as the Austin-based Texas Parent Teacher Association Executive Director . I love what I do because there is no better chemistry than volunteers and staff members devotedly working together to make missions become reality .
The SAAA staff is here to support our members . I welcome your thoughts and ideas on how we can make a very strong SAAA even stronger . As we near our 60th Anniversary , what a great time to reflect on our past and set our eyes on a bright future . I thrive on challenges and fully embrace Renetta ’ s “ RAISE your standards , RAISE SAAA ” call to action .
Here is my commitment as your executive director : 1 . SAAA will be member and mission focused . 2 . SAAA will always operate with Integrity . 3 . SAAA will manage our association with full transparency . 4 . SAAA will consider excellence as the only standard . 5 . SAAA will be the leading affiliate in the apartment association industry .
Henry Ford once said , “ Coming together is a beginning ; keeping together is progress ; working together is success .” I look forward to working together with everyone in SAAA to ensure our next 60 years is for future generations of apartment industry leaders in San Antonio , in Texas and nationwide . Here ’ s to a phenomenal SAAA 2023 year !
