STANLEY HAMMER HONOREE

“ Thaaat’ s Kelley”

As presented by Mark Hurley...
Kelley always makes herself available to help people and she does so with a smile.
All the presidents that I have known call on Kelley more than any other past president for advice.
One of Kelley’ s favorite leaders, Colin Powell said“ Perpetual Optimism is a force multiplier”. Kelley makes unpleasant situations pleasant, and she can lighten up the darkest of moments. She can always find humor in the most challenging of situations thereby making it not so challenging.
Kelley is consistently, sincerely happy for other people’ s success. And she will celebrate with you.
Like her favorite bird the ruby-crowned kinglet Kelley has boundless energy.
Other words to describe Kelley from leaders in the industry: Intelligent, creative, leader, problem solver, dependable, gives great advice.
Cheree Allee said Kelley exhibits the highest level of integrity.
Renetta Quintana called her a great support, not just once, but always. And a dear friend.
And Steve Ross said“ when do y’ all ever work” when he observed all the selfies Renetta and Kelley take together.
David Fritsche- said Kelley has a Joie De Vivre- Exultation of Spirit.
One of the great strengths of Winston Churchill was that to the very end, he pushed and furthered young politicians. Kelley has been extremely effective at furthering the majority of this association’ s and this industry’ s current and future leaders through our Leadership Lyceum program. She chaired the task force that created it in 2011 and the first classes took place under her presidency.
Finally, this award further cements that Kelley has created her own legacy in an industry that is so important to our country. She started at the base of the pyramid, sitting in committee meetings, and she jumped right in with spirit. And years later with a lot of hard work, sacrifice and commitment she has earned the utmost respect, and she is held highest esteem of her peers. Not just in San Antonio, but across the State and the Nation.
Here are some of the committees Kelley has served on:
• SAAA Community Relations Chair 2009
• SAAA Communications Chair 2010
• SAAA Education Chair 2011
• Government Affairs Committee( since I can remember)
