Championships. Women’s and men’s volleyball teams continue to play in their respective local leagues, while playing exhibition games against out-of-town club teams, and OCAA varsity squads. The men’s team has switched to a more competitive and formal league, with the hope of making the players more competitive. The women’s team continues to play every Sunday night at SLC, and is improving after each game. Half-way through the season, and both Vikings basketball teams are on pace for an OCAA Playoff spot. The women’s team currently sits in fourth place in the OCAA East Division with a 7-2 record, and a game in hand. The team recently returned from a competitive tournament in Quebec, where the Vikings faced the top teams in the Country, and came close to pulling off an upset victory over the 201213 National Champions. The men’s team recently recorded a crucial upset victory over the visiting Seneca College Sting, moving the Vikings into a four way tie for the last Playoff spot in the OCAA East Division. With a 5-6 record, the Vikings will need to continue their strong play, and hopefully pull off another upset victory to create some breathing space in a very tight East Division standing.
