oodEX for Africa 2018 opened
its doors from 11 to 13 July
2018 at Gallagher Convention
Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg, and
proudly showcased the latest and greatest
in the woodworking machinery, tooling
and products sector.
With the support of strategic industry
partners, WoodEX for Africa offers a unique
business and networking platform to
connect, unify and grow the African
timber, tooling and machinery markets.
The show exhibits innovative timber and
woodworking products and services, such
as woodworking machinery, fixtures and
fittings, decking, flooring, structural
timber, timber preservatives and
treatment, sawmilling and logging, pulp
and paper manufacturing and wood
material and veneer production.
The exhibition is particularly popular
with the African trade, which makes up
60% of international trade visitors hailing

Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Tanzania, Zambia
and Zimbabwe.
The fifth edition of this biennial trade
show housed trade industry leaders and
exhibitors from across the world including
newcomers to the industry, market
staples, technological innovations and the
biggest local and international players in
the woodworking sector. For the first time,
WoodEX for Africa coincided with the
added facet of the launch edition of the

“We are proud to have secured
unrivalled commitment from the industry
at large for the biggest trade expo in Africa
dedicated exclusively to the wood
industry,” says Stephan Jooste, WoodEX
