SA Business Integrator Volume 12 I Issue 3 | Page 4

EDITOR ' S

NOTE

BEYOND THE HEADLINE: CELEBRATING PROGRESS WHILE ASKING THE QUESTIONS THAT MEANINGFUL CHANGE DEMANDS.
This is my first issue as editor of SA Business Integrator, and I want to be frank about what these pages will do.
South African companies and leaders are building under difficult conditions, often with real ingenuity, and that deserves recognition. It also deserves scrutiny. Without scrutiny, recognition slips into promotion. Without recognition, scrutiny hardens into cynicism. Journalism must make room for both.
This issue tries to do exactly that. Our Women in Leadership theme brings together women executives in direct conversation about authority and the realities of leading under pressure. Our cover Q & A( page 8) examines leadership at pan-African professional advisory firm CLG Global, where agility, rigour, and technical competence are key to managing a diverse array of clients.
ESG after the sermon( page 60) sets corporate claims against the evidence supporting them. Our AI feature( page 76) asks what adoption demands of governance and oversight, not only what it promises in efficiency. We also look at Chery’ s growing commitment to South Africa and what its local manufacturing ambitions could mean for investment, jobs and the automotive industry( page 50)
We will keep looking for the people, companies and ideas moving South African business forward. We will also keep asking what their claims rest on and who pays when ambition outruns execution.
I hope you find something here that informs, challenges, and stays with you.
