Welcome to the first edition of SA Business Integrator for 2026. We begin the year with a compelling cover feature on POLMED Principal Officer, Neo Khauoe, who reflects on the transformation of the South African Police Service Medical Scheme. As a restricted medical scheme serving SAPS members, POLMED has placed innovation at the centre of its service model. A key milestone in this journey is the July 2025 launch of the POLMED Connect App, which provides members with access to scheme administration, benefit information and clinical support through their mobile devices.
We also look ahead to the Investing in African Mining Indaba where global delegates will convene to shape the future of the continent’ s mining sector. This year’ s theme,“ Stronger Together: Progress Through Partnerships,” highlights the importance of collaboration in translating dialogue into meaningful action.
In addition, we examine pressing issues facing key industries. Mining waste continues to pose a growing environmental challenge, yet innovations such as circular economy models and waste-derived fuels are creating opportunities for sustainable solutions that reduce pollution and drive economic growth. We also explore how organised crime and substandard imports are intensifying South Africa’ s copper cable theft crisis, with serious implications for infrastructure and business continuity. Finally, we profile BYD South Africa, the leading Chinese automotive brand committed to making a lasting impact in the country. The company’ s plans for the new year include having 30 dealerships and 200 to 300 charging stations in operation.
This offer is valid until 31 March 2026 and applies to print subscribers with a South African address only. By providing your personal details, you are giving SA Business Integrator magazine permission to communicate and add you to our mailing list.
