A historic setting
Established in 1890, the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club is one of Africa’ s top golfing destinations and the official home of golf in South Africa. Surrounded by lush greenery in Sandringham, the club hosts leading professional associations and is conveniently located near Rosebank, Sandton, and Pretoria.
Within this historic context, Brookfield emerges, offering residents a modern lifestyle with direct access to worldclass golfing. Developed in four phases since 2021, the estate will be finished in 2026, providing one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments along with penthouses ranging from 38m ² to 154m ².

A distinctive design language
Occupying a long, sloping site, Brookfield unfolds in a linear layout that follows the contours of the land. Three-storey walk-up clusters, usually containing six to eight units, consist of two-bedroom apartments on the ground floors and loft units above.
The architecture features pitched slate-grey roofs, complemented by flat-roofed sections built from red brick and white plaster, creating a wave-like rhythm across the development. North-facing gables house entrances and circulation areas, while southfacing elevations open onto the golf course with steeland-glass balconies and brick barbecue columns for privacy. Twin steel chimneys top each unit, becoming a distinctive motif throughout.
This blend of traditional materials and modern elements creates a refined balance – a contemporary take on classic terraced rowhousing, rooted in the golf club’ s original architecture. www. sabuildingreview. co. za 81
