PROJECT Orbic Architects
An unforeseen challenge was the volume of rock that had to be moved on-site. This was cleverly repurposed and positioned to create landscaping terraces that complement the building and its outdoor spaces.
Façade and roofing materials were carefully selected and configured with orientation and exposure to the elements in mind. Western façade masonry walls were built with cavities, including one that houses a sliding louvre to shield the patio from the western sun. Other west-facing openings are fitted with aluminium louvres for further control.
Beyond achieving the desired aesthetic inside and out, despite a challenging site environment, the true success of this project is reflected in the absolute satisfaction of the client. ■
