PROJECT Orbic Architects
Orientation towards the northern sun and viewing ranges to the west were key drivers during the design process. Large overhangs and movable louvres help control the relentless afternoon sun, while the northern orientation allows the sun to penetrate the building during cold winter days.
Optimal use of space formed part of the brief from the client, a couple looking to slow down their working pace while still enjoying entertaining. The eastern wing is dedicated to guests, with two en-suite bedrooms, while the open-plan dining, kitchen, and living area flow seamlessly on ground level, aligned with the garages and main bedroom.
Having these primary functions on one level and near each other optimises living space and dayto-day functionality.
