FEATURES
Zipwall has introduced their Zipfast reusable dust
barriers that protect your living space from dust and
debris. They can be washed after use, and unlike
standard poly sheets they are opaque, which offers
you some privacy from the contractors and
subcontractors who might be in your home at all
hours of the day.
Key features of the product include adjustable
header bar for ease of installation, specially designed
magnetic strips that create a continuous seal around
the door, tough nylon fabric panel is flame retardant
and features a clear plastic window and self-closing
magnets which are sewn-in. The dust barrier can be
used with negative or positive air. This means, no
ladders, no tape and no damage. The ZipWall Dust
Barrier Magnetic Door Kit includes a door panel,
header bar with clips, magnetic strips and a
carry bag.
The Norton Utility File is a tool that has a well-
earned reputation for quickly sharpening or deburring
a variety of cutting surfaces, if surfaces don't have to
be honed to a razor-sharp edge. It's perfect for
sharpening shovels and hoes. Although it's called a
file, the tool is more of a sharpening stone on a stick.
The wedge-shaped 100-grit oilstone is made from
silicon carbide, a medium-hard sharpening abrasive
that is harder than the steel it's meant to sharpen, yet
wears away at a rate that constantly exposes a new–
and sharp and clean–abrasive surface. You'll get
several years out of the Norton file. To use it, squirt a
little machine oil on the blade that you're sharpening
and then rub the stone over the surface in a circular
motion. All four working surfaces are the same; they
ensure that you don't wear one surface out. Simply
rotate the tool as you work. When you're done, rinse
the sharpened surface with a little clean oil and put it
back on the shelf.
Breaking down heavy sheet goods on a jobsite table
saw is difficult, and quite impossible when working
alone. That’s where a track saw comes in handy. A
good quality track saw can produce cabinet saw
results out on any job. Now, this portable tool is even
more portable. The Festool TSC 55 is a cordless saw
that has the same features and performs just as well
as Festool’s corded saw, including the cut capacity and
blade speed. It also has a collection bag that works
and collects up to 90% of dust. The batteries are
compatible with other Festool tools and the saw runs
on their standard tracks.
Hanging upper cabinets is a tough task for one
person. Having a lifting buddy to help is usually a
good idea but costs extra. Little Hands HD is perfect
for the guy who mostly works alone. The 15 x 15cm.
base keeps the cabinets stable and each lift can
handle 68kg. The lever action can be raised a tiny
fraction of an inch at a time, but sneak up on your
target height because lowering the lifts isn’t quite
as easy.
Little Hands HD has a range of 42 to 58cm, so lower
cabinets need to be installed first. With this guy on
site, if you can lift it, you can hang it completely solo. Using the right tool for the job
is just as important as having
the right materials.
