Unpredictable weather conditions can make it hard to plan paint jobs.
Now PPG has launched a ground-breaking innovative product that
offers polymerisation even under wet conditions and allows application
direct to the substrate without the use of conventional primers.
P
rominent Paints High Performance All-Seasons has been
designed to be applied in adverse weather conditions
with no risk of early exposure to rain or condensation.
With Prominent Paints High Performance All-Seasons, painters
can now schedule exterior paint projects with confidence due
to its durable, water-resistant formula – even if rain is
anticipated at short notice. PPG commercial director Pieter de
Vries lists its major attributes:
• New fast drying technology: after just 20 minutes at 23°C
or three hours at 5°C, the film is dry and completely rain
resistant. “This means there is no need to postpone your
exterior projects due to cloudy weather.”
• Wet substrate compatibility: a new PPG formula ensuring
polymerisation even under wet conditions. “It can be
applied directly to wet, condensing surfaces.”
• Wide temperature ranges: All Seasons can be applied from
2°C to 35°C, and up to 90% relative humidity. “There is no
need to worry about extreme weather conditions.”
• Surfactant leaching resistance: a specific formula with a
significantly reduced amount of free surfactant while
maintaining excellent mechanical stability. “This factor
prevents unexpected defects in your paint projects.”

With a matt finish, it is a water-based paint tint-able in all
colours in the Prominent Paints NCS colour system. It has
“quite high volume solids”, meaning its first and second coat
coverage is higher than what the market is used to from
conventional coatings.
