He got worried and went after him, He
spend the night climbing trees with Naruto
until BOTH OF THEM got to the top.
It was the first step to form
their bond.
Sasuke saved Naruto during their battle
against Haku and told him he didn't want
Naruto's dream to die. That was the moment
when Sasuke confessed Naruto the goal of
his life: To kill Itachi.
However, his desire for revenge and even
his own life weren’t -once again- as valuable
to him as Naruto's life. This was the second
time Sasuke put Naruto in first place, even
over his revenge.
He was one of the few people who sincerely
understood him and cared about him.
Besides Iruka, Sasuke was probably the only
one who truly watched Naruto. He allowed
himself to be vulnerable around him, he ope-
ned up to him in many ways.
I think Sasuke was the one who
taught Naruto how to love.
And, to love unconditionally, Sasuke Uchiha,
sworn avenger, the one who didn't want to
get close do anyone. The one who was terri-
fied of the idea of forming bonds because he
was too scared of losing them again. Also, the
one who reached out towards Naruto when
no one else would.
And that's exactly why in chapter 233 Sasu-
ke couldn't kill Naruto even when Naruto
lied completely helpless before him.
In that moment, Naruto was unconscious and the-
re was no one left to defend him, it would have
been enough with using his hands to strangle him,
or to lift his kunai to slit his throat. He would ha-
ve gotten the power that he wished for. Sasuke,
who swore nothing but his revenge mattered to
him; that Sasuke gave that power up for Naruto.
In chapter 234, although he knew that in order to
get the power he needed he had to kill his best
friend, Sasuke refused to do so and decided to
find another way. For the last time before leaving
Konoha for good, Sasuke once again put Naruto
in first place even before his revenge.
And still people wonder why Naruto was so
upset about Sasuke leaving Konoha? That's be-
cause while people like to think that Naruto is so
full of light and warm feelings, they often forget
that it was Sasuke brought Naruto out of his lone-
liness when nobody else did it. As it has already
been mentioned, Naruto recognized only Iruka
and Sasuke as his most important bonds, but it was
because of Sasuke that Naruto begun to have a
better understanding of other people. It was be-
cause of Naruto's desire of saving Sasuke from
darkness that he learned about the pain and ha-
tred that came with the loss of a beloved one.
Even though it was always mentioned that Naru-
to was a big influence over Sasuke's heart. Sasuke
was a big influence over Naruto's heart as well.
Naruto knows it and that's what impulses him to
go even further his capacities just for Sasuke.
"You showed me love when nobody
else did it, now let me do the same
for you.”
