The whistle is alleged to be 100
years old and was first used by Gil
Evans (retired Welsh referee) in a
test match between New Zealand
and England in 1905 where the
All Blacks outclassed the English
15-0.
The All Blacks, the Wallabies
and the Springboks are the
most successful nations in this
competition with an immaculate
six titles between them with each
nation winning it twice apiece.
