Argentina
Nickname: The Pumas
World Cup appearances: 7
World Cup best finish:
Third, 2007
After their third place finish in
2007, Argentina have since
refined their style of play and
climbed across the ladder.
Following their impressive
displays at the World Cup
in France, their efforts were
rewarded with a place in the
Rugby Championship from 2012.
Their game has exceptionally
evolved and have moved on to
alter their tactics from defensive
to forward orientated. A victory
over South Africa was a clear
testament that their standard of
play was rapidly improving.
A quarter-final spot is not a
far-fetched dream considering
the galaxy of stars they have on
their disposal such as Marcos
Ayerza and their mercurial fly half
Nicolas Sanchez.
