2017 Interior Trends by Lynne Bradley, Lynne Bradley Interiors Interior trends this year have seen the re-emergence of dark wood tones, the warmer tones of marble and travertine and an emphasis on brass and bronze. Additionally, there is more textural play of rough against smooth, and the layering of geometric with organic patterns. There is a new appreciation of artisanal pieces and a sense of spacial depth to counteract the digital dominance. We are re-thinking our relationship with nature and particularly embracing dark shades of greens and warm neutrals. Colour Vibrant and dark greens, purples, ruby reds and tans coupled with powdery pinks, terracotta and cinnamon shades beautifully offset lighter neutral shades and are both warming and calming. This colour palette can be either romantic, contemporary or bohemian. Texture Plush and rich textiles such as velvets and embroidered fabrics are coming off the runway and into our homes. Paired with dark timbers, textured stone and warm metals they are a luxurious addition to any space. Wallpaper Bold geometrics, murals, organic botanicals and abstract patterns are making a big come back. Wallpaper is the new ‘feature wall’ and creates depth, contrast and interest to both small and large spaces. The designs that you choose can infuse the home with character like a work of art. It is a backdrop and a feature. Wallpaper: Ardmore Singita by Cole & Sons | www.lynnebradleyinteriors.com.au | lbinteriors
