White , defenders Katie Bashaw , Laurel Blanchard and Phoebe Elliott .
Sophomores are Sarah Calvin , Mallory Lufkin , Bonnie Moore and Mia Napolitano .
Freshmen likely to contribute are Erika Chapin , Lauren Konarski , Brielle Mackie and Annabella McKee .
Walker played “ 98 percent in the field ” last year , according to White , and he is looking forward to her in the net . “ She is a fantastic goalie ,” White said . White said the turnout by these players in the summer league was admirable .
“ Even though it was voluntary , we had the biggest team there other than Rutland ,” he said .
White expects a multi-pronged attack with a lot of players involved in the scoring .

It will be a different cast on the field for the Phantoms . Last year , there were eight seniors , and seven of them started . This year , they have only one senior , Sarah Pecor , who will play both in the back and at midfield .
“ It ’ s the youth ,” coach Scott French said when asked what makes this team different from the one that made a run to the Division IV state championship game after finishing the regular season 11-3 .
There are three juniors including Allie Almond , who just might be as good a defender as there is anywhere . She can also jump start the offense with her booming and well-placed serves up the field .
Junior classmates Maddie Flanders and Amanda Reynolds will be prominent players .
Its large sophomore class includes starting goalkeeper Rachel Stuhlmueller .
Other members of that class are midfielder / forward Madi Lee , back Catherine Cameron , Torrie George ,
forward / midfielder Sydney Wood , midfielder Sawyer Perkins , midfielder / forward Janaya Richardson , defender Lucy Tate , midfielder / forward Katelyn Story and defender Cheyenne Giddings .
Two freshmen who were the bookends in the softball lineup , leadoff batter Maggie McKearin and No . 9 hitter Laci French , will play prominent roles , McKearin as a striker and French as a defender / midfielder .
The freshman class also includes the Traverse triplets . Angela is a goalkeeper and Dezirea and Jasmine will play in the back and at midfield .
The other freshman is Katelyn Regula .

Lori McClallen is excited . There seems little doubt her Raiders will improve on last year ’ s 5-9 mark , but she sounds as though this edition of Raider soccer might do a whole lot better .
The Raiders have experience and interchangeable parts . McClallen has pieces she can move around and get productivity from all over the field .
“ We have nine returning players and eight of them worked themselves into a starting role . We not only have experience , but we have experience on all thirds of the field , which usually doesn ’ t happen ,” she said . “ And the best part of it is that eight of the nine are super versatile .”
The Raiders are set in the goal , where Elise Magro returns for her third year of varsity . She and back Brianna Beauchamp should anchor a strong defense .
Maggie Schillinger is that Swiss army knife coaches love .
“ She can play defense , midfield , forward , inside or outside ,” McClallen said . “ We can use Maggie to fill any void we have .”
There are three starting juniors
returning — Logan Kinsman , Megan O ’ Connor and Erin McClallen .
Kinsman had a good share of the goals and assists last season and is equally at home on the line or at midfield .
O ’ Connor has plenty of experience in the back but can also move up and play midfield .
Erin McClallen will play both a forward spot and midfield . She can go outside where she can utilize her strong cross .
Justin Peters earned a starting spot on defense last year and is another who could play in the midfield area .
Kendra Sabotka can also float between forward and midfield .
The turnout is bigger this year ( 42 ) and one of the exciting parts of that is that 22 freshmen answered the call .
“ We have a little more athleticism and a little more soccer knowledge this year ,” McClallen said .
Springfield
Springfield girls soccer coach Kevin Hoisington felt last year ’ s 1-11-1 team lacked leadership and experience . That will not be the case this season .
“ We have five seniors who will play a pivotal role ,” said Hoisington , listing Morgan Barton , Ashley Quelch and captains Hannah Crosby , Mykalha Jasinski and Megan Power .
“ These girls are expected to play a big part of our success ,” he said .
Hoisington said he is hoping for big contributions from juniors Jenna Veysey , Kayla Gibbons , Juliana Albero- Levings , Ashley Chamberlain and Madison O ’ Brien .
“ They are entering their third year as members of the varsity squad and I expect that they will be playing with a focus and skill set that makes us competitive in all aspects of the game ,” he said .
The remainder of the varsity squad includes sophomores Molly Leonard ,
Hailey Streeter , Megan Greenwood and Liz Griswold .
“ These girls will all be fighting for starting roles ,” Hoisington said .

It almost always goes better the second year for a new coach . Unlike her first season , Deanna Rodolfy came into her first practice knowing her players . Just as importantly , they know her , and that just might translate into improving on last year ’ s 5-8-1 mark .
Captains Kiera Pipeling , Rebecca DeKalb and Sam Callahan have been providing important leadership , and the Horde is feeling good about things as they prepare for Friday ’ s opener against Fair Haven .
The seniors are midfielders DeKalb and Alyssa Carey , forward Callahan and defender Kasey Serrani .
Juniors are Allisa Couarubbias , Bailey Sevigny , Pipeling , Jenee McGee , Rebecca Sanderson , Deanna Kenyon and Alana Raymond .
Some of them have their positions set . Pipeling , a strong offensive threat , is a forward , as is McGee . Sanderson and Kenyon will be on defense and Raymond will float between a back and a halfback .
Sophomore Kiana Grabowski brings speed to the midfield and uses that asset to make runs . Other sophomores are Abigail Farrow ( halfback / forward ), Madison Guay ( halfback / defense ), Elizabeth Bailey and Hailey Parker .
Freshmen are Serena Coombs , Izabel Cushing , Anna Cyr , Isabell Lanfear , Emily McLaren and Kaley Duncan .
Coombs is the goalie and played last year as an eighth grader when she was the starter .
“ She is fearless when it comes to the ball . I ’ ve never seen anything like it ,” said Rodolfy , an ice hockey goalie in high school .
