Other returning players include Hunter and Lucas Hubbard , Dawson Cole , Caleb Garland , Tristan Congleton , Zach Saienni , Lucas Brown , Trey Senecal , Zach Green , Carter Colwell , Matt Harvey , Casey Coughlin , Griffin Plante , Ryan Moore and Willie Goulette .
Veteran Jared Miglorie won the quarterback ’ s job and will give the Raiders a powerful runner in its read offense , joining veteran tailback Peters .
Brattleboro will bring an even younger team than Rutland to Alumni Friday , giving the Raiders a chance to get off on the right foot . The Colonels graduated more than two dozen seniors and have a small squad , physically and numerically ; they brought approximately 30 players to a scrimmage at Mill River last week .
Rutland travels to CVU and BFA-St . Albans before coming home to a two-game set with Hartford and Middlebury . They then visit Rice , host Essexm and travel to Burlington to end the regular season .
Division II FAIR HAVEN
Hoo-boy . Fair Haven has always been known having that one excellent receiver and a golden arm that can get him the ball .
Junior Cam Coloutti will bring the arm again but there are so many capable receiving hands that they could use another football or two in Fair Haven .
“ It ’ s not just one guy any more ,” said coach Brian Grady , the man with the magic touch with quarterbacks . “ We ’ re six deep at wide receiver and basically they are all the same guy .”
The Slaters also have a bruising offensive line to give Coloutti time to tick down his options .
“ This is the most talent I have had since I ’ ve been here ,” said Grady , who is in his second stint at Fair Haven .
Jesse Tucker , Tim Fyles , Brandon Parker , Ryan Stannard and Brandon Parker will be at wideouts and Austin Ellis makes for a bruising tight end at about 230 pounds . Stannard and Eddy both go 6-3 to create a different type of coverage challenge .
It might seem the only way to defend the Slaters is to put the squeeze on Coloutti but that will be no small feat against a small-college-sized , veteran line including all-stater Seth Parker , Jake Stoodley , Jake Grenier , Hunter Muzzy and Jake Heibler . Plus , Grady says Coloutti has improved his footwork and ability to read defenses .
The Slaters will run by committee with a group including Kevin Alexander , Aaron
