The Pant Well is located
in the village square of
the Conservation Area of
Bowden. Its restoration was
coordinated by a group of
volunteers who planned,
raised funds, commissioned
specialist restoration works,
managed the project,
planned the launch and
conducted a range of
learning activities associated
with the natural and built
heritage of the Pant Well.

This small but significant
project has breathed
new life into an iconic
and historic structure.
Fascinating and
accessible resource
material and activities
have been generated
by and for the local
community. The project
has an impressive impact
which belies its size.
