I have been living in Wadebridge , where I am based for 20years and enjoy being part of the wonderful community here . I worked for many years as a full time support worker and brought my two daughters up here . My girls have now moved on to starting their own careers and I am very happy living with my husband and my cocker spaniel , with time to devote to my art work . I really love my work and feel so lucky to have built it into a business that is growing each year .
I work in my home painting glazes onto bisque pottery which is then fired in my kiln at home to temperatures of over 1000 degrees centigrade . This produces beautiful and also practical items for the home . The process of painting with glazes and experimenting with different colours and textures is always fascinating to me and my pieces have a 3 dimensional aspect to them . I often add a sparkly sand texture , my pebbles and shells , flowers , clouds and water have texture and it all adds to my pieces having a lovely tactile nature to them .
I produce a wide variety of pieces , the most popular being mugs , coasters and vases , I also sell soap dishes , hanging decorations and jugs , as well as occasional one off items .
My work is available in several outlets , as well as directly from my website . I am part of a craft collective shop named Winifred and Mabel , which is on the high street in Wadebridge and exclusively stocks locally hand made items . My work is also sold in Fowey in a shop called HJ and Co , as well as at local stately home Pencarrow house and Tintagel house gift shop
I have painted many items with customers dogs , family members , names or favourite scenes in Cornwall . These make perfect gifts for the special person in your life . The part of my work I especially enjoy is producing personalised and bespoke items for individual customers . I love to paint larger sets of tiles to produce murals for the kitchen or bathroom . It is a real joy to communicate with people personally and paint something especially for them to fit in a specific area , or to commemorate a special friend or place .
My house name and number tiles are very popular too , as I can put any house name and personalise the background picture . The tiles then become an eye-catching and decorative addition to your home .

As all my work is hand painted , every piece is unique , if you look carefully you may find little extra details such as a little dog , a walker , a surfer , a bike - whatever takes my fancy whilst I am painting . Any of my items can be painted with additional personal touches .
