DOES YOUR HORSE NEED A DISTRACTION ?
For those of you reading this magazine and wondering could a horse possibly need a toy , it ’ s similar to why humans like to read , play games or watch tv ( something we have all done quite a bit of during lockdown !), horses need a distraction .
In the wild horses would normally graze for up to 18 hours a day but often due to lack of space or convenience , horses are often kept stabled for long periods with limited access to grazing . This can lead to all manor of behavioural and digestive issues .
Likit know that every horse has its own personality and as such have developed a range of toys to suit every horse . Some horses are highly food motivated or playful and require a very challenging toy such as our Boredom Breaker or Boredom Buster whilst other horses are less adventurous and would benefit from something easy to use like our Likit Holder . Each of our activity toys can be used with a lick ( the Likit ) which are available in a wide variety of different flavours from the more traditional Apple , Carrot & Mint to the slightly wackier Banana and Cherry and many more ...
The newest addition to the range is our Likit Granola , a longlasting lick , jam-packed with tasty grains including ; maize , wheat , barley and oats , it almost looks good enough to eat ourselves !
For more information on the Likit range , visit www . likit . co . uk or check our Instagram or Facebook page .
These licks are designed to keep the horse playing with the toy for longer , thus helping to relieve boredom and stress as well as helping them to perform that all important licking and chewing which stimulates saliva , important to digestive health .
