Olga Huemer’s dream to live on a farm came true. It was
her wish when she participated in the Youth workshop
in 2015 and 2 years later, she and her husband Thomas
managed to buy a farm to start with organic vegetables
and cereals in a small mountain village in Austria. From her
childhood in Ukraine, collecting herbs in the wild for her
grandmother and working in her grandmother’s garden, she
keeps an interest for traditional knowledge of herbs and
seeds. That is why they work only with seedfast (non-hybrid)
varieties of crops and old breeds of animals, which are
mainly endangered. They also are members of Arche Noah,
an Austrian seedsaving organisation.
