Life, Death, Resurrection & Ascension
Beloved,
As we get closer to the Resurrection of Christ, that occurred on the Day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Passover, which begins at sundown Thursday evening, I would like each of to reflect not just on the death of Christ, or His resurrection, but to reflect on the reason He was sent to earth.
Many of us focus on “the Cross”, but forget about all Jesus taught us while He was here on earth. Some of us may have even forgotten the reason He came. He came because God loved us so much, that it grieved Him tremendously to see the state of man so deep into sin, that He sent His ONLY Son here, to teach us how to live, how to love, how to treat others and how to reach those that are lost, hurt, dead and dying in Christ. Jesus left us with a NEW commandment, found in John 13:34, which is, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” He also left us with the Great Commission, which is, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Not only are we to constantly demonstrate His love, patience and compassion to one another, but we are also to go out and make disciples of all people. There were so many lessons Jesus taught us throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, it would behoove each of us to go back and read some, if not all he accomplished during His short time here on earth.
And, for those who “think” or have been “taught” that those things only happened during that time or that Jesus is the only One who was able to do the father’s bidding, I want you to look at this passage of scripture. In John 14:12-14, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it."
I pray each one of you be blessed by the words, inspired by the Holy Spirit, in this publication.
I pray this publication blesses each of you the way it has blessed me!!!
Simply Blessed,
Hazel
