Hello again! We have covered 4 'Ingredients' of COMPOSITION so far. I hope you find them useful
and at this point..you should be much more confident producing your painting.
Lets get started..
MERGERS BEWARE is the FIFTH Ingredient of Composition.
This is rather a straight to the point topic and very easy.
There are 2 types of merger-the GOOD MERGER and the BAD MERGER.
The one we're going to be aware of is of course the BAD MERGER.
In this tutorial, the mergers I am referring to is the Bad one..I just don't like to use the word bad
because it sounds very negative..so please take note.
Mergers Beware or..Beware of mergers simply means to be aware of shapes around your subject
(Focal Point) that seem to merge or blend together with the Focal Point creating one bigger
shape that can divert viewers eye from the original intention.
Having elements of composition overlapping each other would interrupt the eye. They can
redirect the viewer's eye onto unintended path. Not only they distract the eye movement, they
could also harm the continuity within an image.
