Jennifer Mc Dairmant recently told Rugby Club
Magazine, “Saint & Co took over the club accounts
two years ago and also became a club sponsor. As
a company we have a strong affiliation with rugby
with many of our staff either playing or supporting
this great sport.
It’s great to hear that Stewartry have been
recognised for their great community work and
myself and all the staff at Saint & Co wish everyone
at the club the very best of continued success!”
Alistair Mather and his company Mathers Ltd have had a long and positive association with Stewartry RFC. He told us, “As
we are in the farming business we know many people around the Dumfries & Galloway region and a lot of our customers
and friends are around Castle Douglas.
As an ex rugby player myself I’m aware of the hard work and community service the club provides and as a sponsor we are
very keen to contribute to this great club. The club’s hospitality has always been second to none and they have been a great
example of how to run their affairs successfully. Myself and all the staff at Mathers would like to wish everyone at Stewartry
RFC the very best of continued success as they approach their 50th anniversary!”
“I started as an U18 player with friends joining the club as there was not a lot of Rugby at the school back then. My main
position was back row, usually No 7 and I still turn out for the odd xmas game and played on occasion for the 2nds.
I’ve enjoyed watching the guys playing this season with some very good flowing rugby. I also sponsor the club and have done
for many years with hmy company Swalwell holiday GP. Best wishes to everyone for the rest of the season.”

Duncan Coulthard hails from Twynholm and has early
memories of the club before they moved to Greenlaw,
explaining, “I always like to keep an eye on how the club
is doing and by all accounts a strong start has been had.
I have enjoyed being a social member of the club and
have on many an occasion been party to their excellent
hospitality.
Garry and Tanya Russell recently spoke to Rugby Club Magazine about the positive relationship with Stewartry
RFC. Garry said “I can’t speak highly enough about the team of people who manage the club on and off the pitch
and their dedication to providing a real hub of the community where people can relax and have fun. Unfortunately,
myself and Tanya don’t get down as often as we like but it’s always good to hear that the club is doing so well.”
Tanya said, “Like Garry, running the business and looking after the children takes up most of our time but I am
very happy to say that our son Harvey, who is about to turn 11, loves his rugby and has been a member of another
local club Dumfries from being preschool age, hopefully his sister may follow suite!
It’s so important that sports clubs provide an outlet for children and families to exercise, keep healthy and have
fun and Stewartry provide all of these things to a very high standard. We have sponsored the club for seven years
or more now and love to support them when we can. Best wishes to everyone at Stewartry Rugby Club for many
more years to come!”
As a hub of our local community they provide a place for
young, old and friends alike to come together in fun and
friendship. Hayton Coulthard have sponsored the club for
well over twenty years and enjoy helping out when we can.
Good luck to everyone at Stewartry Rugby Club for many
years to come, keep up the good work!”
