2020 “Our targets in 2020 include promotion to Caledonia Division 1 and to continue to attract new players and supporters throughout the club. Off the pitch we plan to install a new grandstand and continue to upgrade out advertisement fence at our home ground.” Youth “Youth rugby is key to the success and future of the club. Young players will provide a future for the rugby club within Carnoustie; therefore it is imperative that we continue to invest the time in coaching children at all of our local Schools, both primary and secondary. Carnoustie HSFP RFC has invested in a youth development officer, paid for by the club to attend all the local schools to develop rugby and encourage kids to get involved.” Integration “The Scottish Rugby Union has set procedures which we follow to enable any under 18 players who wish to play adult rugby. We adhere to this process and have various coaches available to support individuals, whether it be fitness, strength and conditioning. All Ross Smyth has had a long and positive association with Carnoustie Rugby Club. He recently told Rugby Club Magazine, “My younger brother Gordon, who now lives in Australia was a very good rugby player, who played alongside the likes of Peter Christie at the club. As a company Smyth Composites like to support our local sports clubs and it’s great to hear how well the rugby lads are competing this year. I know many of the members and I am fully aware of the great service they provide to young and old alike and the time they give to keep Carnoustie RFC flourishing as it is. Myself and all the staff at Smyth Composites would like to congratulate everyone at the club on a great season and best wishes to all for the remainder of the 2019/2020 campaign!” of which enables a smooth transition to help players progress to adult rugby.” Community “I would consider Carnoustie HSFP RFC a community club as we have our clubhouse in one of the local hotels. We run lots of social events which are well attend by the community, in particular we hold a “New Years Dook” on the 1st of January every year, this is open to the public and this year we raised £1000 which was donated to a local charity (5 Day Chemotherapy Unit at Ninewells Hospital). There were over 100 people who took part in the dook as well as approximately 1000 people who came along to watch the event.” Challenges/Ambitions “The biggest challenge for any club is to keep you people motivated and encouraged them to play rugby when other sports are readily available in the area. It is our ambition to build on the hard work and success of everything we have achieved in the previous years and to have our own clubhouse, pitches and independent facilities which everyone will be proud to be a part of.” GRP COMPOSITE FLAT SHEET & ANTI SLIP PRODUCTS A premier manufacturer of Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) flat sheet products in the United Kingdom.
