Haywards Heath FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG Colts side. The current Clubhouse is no longer fit for purpose and the whole Club is working together to make sure that this development opportunity is not missed. The Club has already raised over £350,000 itself and is continuing its fund raising activities, following a successful Festival of Rugby at Whitemans Green in late August and Race Night in October with a planned HHRFC City Lunch in London on 7 February where former Quins professional Tom Williams will be discussing the fallout from the notorious Bloodgate incident. All rugby supporters not just Club members are welcome to join this lunch and more information is available on the Club website at www.hhrfc.co.uk or via rugby@ hhrfc.co.uk . All age groups are involved in the fund raising activities and have pledged to raise a minimum £5,000 each throughout the Under 6 to Under 16, Colts age groups and senior squad – demonstrating the commitment to #oneclub seeing this project through to completion as soon as possible. The Club starts 2020 with the fantastic news that The Adelphi Group of Companies – a Haywards Heath based business that supplies a wide range of packaging and processing machinery and equipment to a number of different industries - has donated £50,000 to the Clubhouse Project in recognition of the importance of community involvement in developments such as that proposed by the Club’s new multi-sports pavilion. It is hoped that other businesses with similar corporate social responsibility goals will follow this lead and help make sure the ambitious but achievable project plans are implemented this year. The CGI images show how the proposed state of the art, two storey, multi-sport pavilion with its massively improved facilities, viewing balcony and additional parking will help encourage increased participation in rugby at all ages and allow the club to reach its goal of extending the provision of rugby to include girls age 12+ and ladies. The new Clubhouse will benefit not just the local rugby community but also other sports and has the potential to become a major community social hub providing facilities to a wide range of other local organisations and creating a positive legacy for the local area. To this end, fundraising continues in earnest – even a Dolly & Kenny tribute evening is planned for March! - and with the help and assistance of the extended rugby family and the local community, this fantastic proposed new community sports facility is getting closer all the time.
