Barns Green Our community aspect finds us village based, working with our local Sports and Social Club to share facilities with Barns Green cricket and football teams, the Sports Club is currently undergoing a major changing room improvement which we will be able to enjoy in a few more months. One of the ways that we enhance our community contact is by creating an excellent event in the annual Simon Viney Charity Tag Sevens competition based on our Village Green. Here a tie up with The Wooden Spoon and other local charities has seen us raise approaching £50,000 for these causes in the past nine years. We have a strong collection of Vice Presidents and sponsors whose support both financially and with their presence on the touchline, is very much appreciated, every player who has finished their playing days knows the value of a good lunch followed by an afternoon watching your Club play! Our challenge over the next five years is to prioritise justifying our continued presence in Sussex 1 as a key goal, use this place in county rugby to grow our playing membership to include a second team, then establish a permanent pitch and start a junior section, all whilst ensuring that Barns Green is and remains a great place to play rugby.
