RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB
It has been a fantastic year for Beaconsfield RUFC and the club is
working hard to continue to progress. Rugby Club Magazine recently
caught up with their Chairman of Youth and Vice President Richard
Gommo to find out more.
He told us, “I have been involved
with the club since my sons started
playing as U6s, fifteen years ago. Since
then, I have been involved with various
aspects of the club over the years, from
a Mini coach through to the privilege of
being Chairman of Youth currently.”
“The club has had a quite fantastic
year, with Chairman Chris Summers at
100 Issue 86
the helm, and a tireless and enthusiastic
committee. We have more than 1,000
members, with 463 Mini players, under
the leadership of human dynamo Russ
Whitlock, 185 Youth players, and the
Senior club consistently fielding three
teams. The Firsts secured promotion
last year to level 6 and, in possibly an
even greater achievement, secured 6th
place in the league this year, under
the stewardship of Head Coach Simon
Tattersall. The Seconds and Thirds also
secured promotion, with the Thirds
sometimes fielding a very healthy bench
of 10-15 players.
