Whilst it would be fair to say that Malvern RFC’s first team has not
enjoyed the campaign they would have liked this time around, this
should not take away from the good work being carried out at the club.
Rugby Club Magazine recently caught up with their Director of Rugby
Rob Cook to find out more.
He told us, “I have been
involved at Malvern for the last
two seasons. However, while
at university, our sides played
at the rugby club and I have
done some coaching with the
seniors and colts while I was at
Gloucester. It’s a great club with
great people.”
“The most challenging part
of my role is getting numbers
to training. The most rewarding
thing is seeing a busy clubhouse
after a game or a full youth
section performing on a Sunday.
“The mood at the club is
excellent despite the 1st team
getting relegated this year. The
mood at the club is very positive.
From a 1st team point of view the
season has been pretty poor but
the club is in a good place.

“From my point of view, in
2019 I am going to focus more on
the youth section. For the seniors
it is important that they start to
get numbers to training. Youth
rugby is massive for us. They are
the future of the club.
“The colts team has been a
