Newbury Blues sides entering all sorts of triangular competitions and festivals. “Our Minis act as mascots on home match days for the 1st XV Newbury Blues and they love the occasions as do the Blues players. This is becoming quite a tradition within the club. Our Junior section is also very strong with all groups having numerous qualified coaches. “We are very much a community club. We regularly go out to all the schools and communities with many of our coaches helping out locally as well as encouraging use of our facilities for all sorts of events. We host local competitions for schools and clubs such as cubs and scouts as well as local girls association football practices when they were rejected by local soccer clubs. We also host all sorts of meetings, courses, conferences and weddings as well as parties. “Over the coming years we need to develop our volunteer group as you can never have too many people helping out. Of course, there is the Rugby challenge where we need to maintain and indeed further improve our standards. We must never be satisfied. “We have so many dreams for the club. If Newbury RFC can continue with all the good it is doing at the moment and increase funding, sponsorship and commercial success to allow us to develop the rugby side of the club further and with the huge enjoyment and spirit we have at the moment, we will be moving in the right direction. We have a dedicated committee which is growing from strength to strength and a coaching set up which is the envy of many but we must keep it going. I believe the future is bright.” #Come on you Blues# www.rugbyclubmag.com 63
