Bowdon FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG modern way. Recognising that we’ve worked hard to build an environment where we give all players, irrespective of level, the maximum opportunity to engage. We’ve invested in quality coaching and training pitch improvements and are getting fantastic results with training this season being the best attended we’ve ever known. This has allowed us to build a senior squad of real quality right throughout the Seniors. I enjoy seeing players enjoying training, improving and getting the results on the field. We have a real one club mentality and being in the clubhouse on a Saturday after the teams all return and it’s buzzing and the banter is flowing are some of the best moments.” Atmosphere 2018/19 “The atmosphere here is fantastic. We are in the midst of a very enjoyable season for the Seniors and the Minis and Juniors are going from strength to strength. Our Colts teams are established and so we have a strong base from which to build towards our goals. Behind the Rugby is an ambitious and well represented committee moving the club in a positive direction. The club finances whilst always challenging are underpinned by our fantastic Marquee room which has recently been refurbished, and not only hosts numerous Rugby events throughout the year, but provides a fantastic events venue for our community to use, and brings in vital funds to run and develop the club.” “To date our season has gone just about as well as we could have hoped. Both our 1st XV and 2nd XV are currently in the hunt for promotion with the 1st sitting top and the 2nds in 3rd. We’ve got a fantastic coaching set up led by Sale and Scottish Internationals Byron McGuigan and Josh Strauss who have both really invested in the club in terms of time and effort and the enjoyment they seem to take from being involved and the M&J’s, as always, are fantastically energised with a great ethos for volunteering and getting stuck in. The various minis and Junior age groups are entering Cup Finals season so we hope to some more silverware being added to their already heaving trophy cabinet.” “Cheshire is fortunate to have so many rugby clubs and we’re proud sponsors of the 1stXV at Bowdon. The not to be matched bonhomie of the Bowdon club ensures guests are given a warm welcome and our corporate guests always say that games, overall experience and hospitality are exceptional. It’s a true family atmosphere at Clay Lane and the grass-roots philosophy plays a big part in the club’s ethos. We wish Bowdon RUFC success for the rest of this season and are pleased to be associated with the club, its supporters and wider community. Top of the table with all to play for!” Adrian Stewart, Caunce O’Hara & Co. Ltd “I’ve been involved with the club since my eldest son joined the U6 age group, becoming a support coach the following year. I eventually took a leading coach role from U12s and have moved through the age groups, now leading the U16s, soon to be junior colts. The U16s this year will compete in the Bowl Final of the Cheshire Cup. We have sponsored the club on several occasions and continue to part sponsor the annual tour, this year heading overseas for the first time with a tour to Ireland. The touring party of twenty-four lads and a similar number of parents had a great time and it was great to see the squad bond as a team and friends. Best wishes from the company to everyone at the club and best of luck to the U16s at the Cheshire Cup finals day as well as all the other age groups competing in the same.” Michael Fazal 46 Issue 85 www.rugbyclubmag.com 46
