“I got to know Boroughmuir Rugby Club through my friendship with Steve Langmead. I am the Managing
Director of Commsworld, the main club sponsor. I have always been a football fan but am becoming more and
more attuned to the club over the years I have been involved.
I was particularly attracted to the club when I saw the amount of community work they do and the effort put
in by committee and members can only be described as outstanding. They are an all-inclusive entity through
the variety of sports they house and also the openness they demonstrate throughout the local community. The
current committee seem to be deepening the DNA that the club has developed over the past 99 years.
Myself and everyone at Commsworld would like to wish everyone at Boroughmuir Rugby and Community
Sports Club the very best of success as they embark on another chapter of this great club’s history!”

Magnus Wang has been a member of Boroughmuir Rugby Club since 1987. He recently told Rugby Club
Magazine, “I have had a long association with Scottish Rugby having played my rugby at Boroughmuir. I played
rugby at a local school and they sent tickets to the school for games and sent coaches up to the school to help with
our sessions. They were just so proactive, even back then. So, when it came to finding a club after school, they were
an obvious choice for many of us.”
“Competing against so many teams over the years you get to know many people and built connections and
lifelong friendships which make being involved so much more enjoyable and beneficial. Rugby is a physical contact
sport, but the social side is equally important with all rivalries forgotten about over a pint.
“Eastern have been operating in Edinburgh since 1927 and we are part of the motor trade establishment, not
unlike Boroughmuir! We represent both BMW and MINI franchises for the Edinburgh region. As a principal club
sponsor, we like to interact with our customers and local communities, while putting some financial support where it
can make a difference. This extends into charity fund raising where we provide cars for local gala days, provide work
experience and apprenticeship places and obviously the rugby club sponsorship.
“It’s great to hear Boroughmuir Rugby Club have been chosen to appear within Rugby Club Magazine and I wish
everyone involved the very best of success as they not only approach their SUPER6 adventure but a hundred years of
rugby in Edinburgh where they have produced many great Scotland players over the years. My hope is that Eastern
remain involved on the clubs journey and continue to contribute to grass roots rugby for many years to come!”
