Derek Binnie has had a long and positive association with Boroughmuir Rugby Club as a player, supporter, member and sponsor.
He recently told Rugby Club Magazine, “I started playing for the club from the age of twelve in their first ever mini/midi section
and my career, playing number 12 or on the wing, spanned more than 28 years.”
“I feel it’s important to mention and to remind younger players why we are here and that rugby is more than just the 80 minute
periods of match time. This great game has taught me an awful lot which can be utilised throughout life with great friendships
and a strong work ethic; to continue when the going gets tough is essential to achieving your goals.
“It’s great to see the improvement the teams are experiencing over the past few seasons As a club Boroughmuir have many good
people overseeing on and off field matters from the excellent committee, coaches, membership and a great fanbase keeping
the club’s future well fuelled.
“My company, Space Solutions, have been sponsors for over a decade now and in addition to our sponsorship I am always
available to step in and help the club when needed. As Boroughmuir Rugby enters a new exciting and historic period I would like
