Rugby Club Magazine recently caught up with their Club Captain Aidan Hamilton to find out more about the club. Involvement He said, “I started playing at Kingston RFC at the age of 18 back in 2009. I grew up playing football as a centre back, which was probably a sign that I wasn’t a very good footballer … so Kingston RFC was my first experience of club rugby and the environment that brings with it. I was always interested in rugby but with having a geordie Dad, Newcastle United, and watching my child hood hero, Alan Shearer, always took priority. The main thing that attracted me to Rugby though was the morals and ethos the game projects, as well as the club’s togetherness. After being at the club for so many years, in 2016, I was treated to a Nando’s by our Chairman, Pete Codd, and was asked if I would be happy to take over the role of Club VTA (UK) provides drawing solutions to the commercial construction industry. I started as a front row player but as I grew and slimmed down I moved to the back row and number eight.
