I decided last year to branch out further and sponsor a local sports club. It was important to find a team with good values and a positive place in the community. As a keen supporter of Kettering Rugby Club, I seized the opportunity to Sponsor KRFC. Kettering Rugby Club stood out to me as they offer such a great opportunity for development from their youth teams to the junior and senior teams. We look forward to seeing the continued development of all teams and wish them all the best for the season ahead.” Ryan Monaghan associated disabled facilities to enable everyone to reach and utilise our first floor social areas which are available all week to outside functions as well as the club generating business with its own functions.” Challenges “Maintaining our basic ‘amateur’ ethos of not paying players while being able to compete at a higher level is our biggest challenge. Also, making sure the club stays sustainable and using any funds generated for the benefit of the whole club and not just one team is important. We want to continue to improve our clubhouse facilities and significantly grow the use of the club by external bodies, without affecting the rugby side of the club, but to help fund the playing of rugby and make it as affordable as possible for ALL players.” “I’m a big rugby fan and have always admired the values of Rugby Union. Eighteen months ago I contacted Kettering with a view to sponsorship. Based on the size of the club and community reach and reputation I became a sponsor with his business KMC. It is great to hear how well they are doing and best wishes to everyone for the future.” Tim Harley 84 Issue 83
