Kettering
RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
Kettering RFC enjoyed a fine year in 2018 and their first team
currently finds them involved in a title race. Rugby Club Magazine
recently caught up with their Secretary Peter may to find out more
about the club.
Involvement

involved with the club since the early
80s, having all sorts of roles both on and

coaching role with the Under 16’s after

Yorkshire where I was involved with
Selby Rugby Club and then Lincolnshire
where I refereed in the Notts, Lincs and
Derbyshire Referees Society. Today I
see in our 1st XV some of the sons of the
players I coached as Under 16’s all those
years ago which I suppose in some way
is the reason I joined the club as even
in those days back in the 80’s Kettering
Rugby Club was already a family club
and something I wanted to be part of!”
The Role
“I have several roles at the club
as well as being Club Secretary and
all the roles have many challenging
and rewarding moments, for example
getting people to book tables for our
